NOTICE: Under the Credit Reporting Act 2013 lenders are required to provide personal and credit information for credit applications and credit agreements of €500 and above to the Central Credit Register. This information will be held on the Central Credit Register and may be used by other lenders when making decisions on your credit applications and credit agreements.


What you need to know before you apply

You must:

  • Be aged between 18 and 74
  • Be a resident of the Republic of Ireland. If you live in Great Britain or Northern Ireland, please apply though our UK site.
  • Agree to an Agent visiting your at your home who will carry out an assessment of your income and outgoings.

You will need:

  • Personal information including your name and date of birth
  • Your address details for the past 3 years.
  • A contact telephone number and email address (so that the Agent can contact you to complete your application.)
  • If you're applying for a loan of €500 or more you will also need to provide your Personal Public Service Number during the home visit, you can see the full list of documents you can use for proof of Personal Public Service Number here.

Proof of ID and address

As part of the Agent visit you will be asked to provide one proof of ID and address, before the Agent can continue with your application.

These may include:

  • Current Photo card Driving Licence.
  • Current signed passport (ID only)
  • Utility bill from within the last 6 months (address only)

Proof of income

Your Agent will also need to see income documentation as part of the affordability assessment and application process.

  • wage slip
  • evidence of welfare payments

How we use the Central Credit Register

If you take out a Provident loan of €500 or more we will send your personal and credit information to the Central Credit Register, to satisfy our obligations under the Credit Reporting Act 2013. From the 31st March 2018 we will share your name, Address, Date of birth and Personal Public Service Number (PPSN) and information about how you manage your account, including if you fail to make payments with the Central Bank Of Ireland.

Proof of ID and Income
